When It's Time to ReGroup
the first in a series of free, short, ambient support works
I don’t know about you, but as for me, I’ve noticed every year that time seems to pass more and more quickly.
I guess that the prevailing wisdom is that we experience that phenomenon because every year … a year becomes a smaller fraction of our total life. We experience fewer novel experiences to differentiate days and months, and at the same time, our brain processes new information more slowly, and creates fewer memorable "frames" to slow down our perception of time.
All the more reason to be present with our lives, and a good reason for me to share with you what will become a series of short (about 5 minute) ambient works, each designed for a specific purpose … in light of your increasingly precious available time.
My hope is that each will support your ability to quickly achieve a state for which you have a perceived need: whether that be relaxation (a quick refresh), energizing, or anything in-between.
The first in my Respite mini-series is about helping you quickly regain a sense of calm.
I’ve titled this first one: The Quieting. I hope you’ll find it useful!
To maximize the experience, try this: find a comfortable place to sit, with your back in a respectful, upright posture.
Begin to focus on your breathing. Take a full breath in, and then after the slightest pause, take another deep breath in (before exhaling) … and then let it all out slowly. Continue this practice for the duration of the music.
